Charlie Kirk’s College Tour Resumes 12 Days After His Death

Turning Point USA’s campus tour has resumed following the death of Charlie Kirk.

The nonprofit organization held its first event since Kirk’s death at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities on Monday, September 22.

Political commentator and author Michael Knowles served as the guest speaker after event organizers paid tribute to Kirk on campus.

“This is the Turning Point Tour at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities,” the organization wrote via X on Monday with video of the packed venue. “[They] held a powerful moment as students chanted Charlie’s name.”

Another event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 24, at Virginia Tech with guests Megyn Kelly and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin.

Kirk — who was the founder of Turning Point USA — was shot and killed during a stop on his American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University on September 10. He was 31.

Although the tour took a pause after the tragedy, the organization’s website stated events will resume with Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk, being quoted as saying, “Our campus tour this fall will continue.”

Speakers expected to participate in the coming weeks include Savannah Chrisley, Rob Schneider, Allie Beth Stuckey and more.

While eulogizing her husband on Sunday, September 21, at a public memorial, Erika, 36, spoke out about Charlie’s desire to help young people. It’s one of the many reasons, she says, he enjoyed visiting college campuses.

“He knew things were not right with America — especially with young people. And they needed a new direction,” she said in her speech at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. “Charlie passionately wanted to reach and save the lost boys of the West — the young men who feel like they have no direction, no purpose, no faith and no reason to live. … Charlie wanted to help them. He wanted them to have a home with Turning Point USA. When he went onto campus, he was looking to show them a better path — a better life that was right there for the taking.”

According to Turning Point USA, interest in its organization focused on “identifying, educating, training and organizing students to promote freedom” continues to grow. Charlie’s widow has since been named the new CEO of the nonprofit.

“In the past 2 weeks, TPUSA has received 121,000+ requests from high school and college students nationwide to start a chapter or get involved with an existing chapter,” Turning Point USA shared via X on Wednesday.
